Sven Wunder

Noveller

Word is that in a conversation with Jim Jarmusch, Iggy Pop once referred to the music of LA experimental artist Noveller as "symphonies for people that don't have a lot of time."  That's wonderful and i love it.  It also perfectly captures the sounds of Noveller.  Check out the cinematic and ambient soundscape of "Effektology" below and pre-order the upcoming "Arrow" album here from the artist.

Thurston Moore - Strawberry Moon

I guess we had a pink, strawberry moon a few nights ago, and Thurston Moore recorded a music piece to accompany it.  "Strawberry Moon" is a sprawling, droning trio of guitars creating a soothing hum with maybe something more ominous bubbling beneath.  Check it out and get it here.

Thou

One of my favorite things about Louisiana sludge metal band Thou is all of their absolutely crushing covers of '90s grunge songs, tackling the likes of Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, and Pearl Jam.  But the band they seem to gravitate towards the most is Nirvana, having covered them over and over on different releases.  And now, all those covers are in one place.  Yesterday, Thou quietly released "Blessings of the Highest Order," a collection of all of their Nirvana covers.  Brutal, screeching mayhem, and i love it.  Check out "Scentless Apprentice" below and get the whole thing here from Robotic Empire.
