Moor Mother

It's pretty impossible to pin down Philadelphia artist Moor Mother into any particular genre, and that continues with the upcoming new album "The Great Bailout."  Check out the dense, layered, and sprawling new track "Guilty," featuring Lonnie Holley and Raia Was, a 10-minute long sparse work of free jazz, poetry, and hypnotic sonic weirdness.  Listen below and pre-order the album here from Anti- Records.

Slow Pulp

Here's a crunchy new jam from Madison, Wisconsin's Slow Pulp that feels like it was plucked off some mixtape made 27 years ago.  Listen to "Cramps" below and download it here from Anti- Records.

Danny Elfman & Trent Reznor

Film score composer and former Oingo Boinger Danny Elfman has teamed with fellow film score composer and Nine Inch Nails front man Trent Reznor for a new single called "Native Intelligence."  This follows the duo's collaboration "True" from last year.  Elfman has a new record heading our way this summer, and i can only assume this is not the last time these two will meet.  Check out the track below and get it here from Anti- Records.

Danny Elfman and Trent Reznor

Earlier this year Danny Elfman released his first solo album of non-soundtrack music in over 30 years.  And now the artist has taken one of the tracks from that record, "True," and re-recorded with an assist from Trent Reznor.  It's pretty rad.  Check it out below and download the tune here from Anti- Records.

Deradoorian

I am not a fan of Dirty Projectors, so i'm finding it kind of hard to believe that i'm really digging the upcoming solo release of Dirty Projectors member Angel Deradoorian.  The artist, recording under the moniker of Deradoorian, is crafting gloomy, stripped down, post-punk tinged pieces of psychedelic rock, and apparently i am here for it.  Check out the kinda krautrock-ish "Saturnine Night" below and pre-order "Find The Sun" here from Anti.

Deafheaven - Black Brick

Deafheaven released a new track today, "Black Brick," a B-side from last year's excellent album "Ordinary Corrupt Human Love."  It's a blistering, pummeling tune, and worthy of your ears today.  Listen below and get it here via Anti.

Deafheaven - Night People

I know it's already been out a couple of weeks, but i don't believe i've written about how outstanding "Ordinary Corrupt Human Love," the latest album from shoegazey, black metal, post rock band Deafheaven is.  Granted, i've been out of town, but no excuses.  The record finds the band maybe more contemplative than in the past, with long sections of subdued and beautiful music taking over for the band's more frequent use of turmoil-laden howling.  And Chelsea Wolfe's on the thing too!  Watch the video for the Wolfe-assisted "Night People" below and get the album from Anti-.

Deafheaven - Honeycomb

I wasn't expecting new music from Deafheaven today, but here we go.  "Honeycomb" is the first single from the band's upcoming "Ordinary Corrupt Human Love" LP, due in July on Anti-, and it certainly sounds like Deafheaven.  Watch the video below.

The Dream Syndicate

Did you know that The Dream Syndicate were back together?  I didn't know The Dream Syndicate were back together.  Anyway, The Dream Syndicate are back together...and they've got a new album coming out in September, their first in 29 years.  Listen to the soaring "Glide" below and grab the "How Did I Find Myself Here?" record next month from Anti.

Delicate Steve

Delicate Steve makes instrumental music that feels lo-fi and quirky, but classic and nostalgic at once.  New album "This Is Steve" is out now on Anti.  Watch the video for "Tomorrow" below.

Cass McCombs

I've never really gotten all that into Cass McCombs, but the folky troubadour may finally have me convinced with his latest track "Opposite House."  The track has a ghostly, watching the rain hit the window kind of vibe, gray clouds looming just behind his gentle voice while Angel Olsen provides soft cooing in the background.  This is rainy day music at its best.  Listen below and look for the upcoming "Mangy Love" LP in August from Anti.

Deafheaven - Come Back

Here's another new one from Deafheaven's upcoming album "New Bermuda."  "Come Back" is a sticky, heavy mess that soon falls away to majesty.  Listen below and grab the record next month from Anti-.
