This month sees the release of "Alienation," the latest album from horror synth revivalist Umberto, courtesy of Not Not Fun.  The new album feels deeper and more melancholy than anything he's done before, and it makes for quite a beautiful listen.  Watch the video for the wistful and spooky "Awakenings" below.

I'm tired today.  I think a weekend's worth of live shows and drinking coupled with running around outside with my son and his cousins may have finally cracked me.  So, here's a hazy, ambient soundscape from members of Telepath and Hong Kong Express called 2 8 1 4 that perfectly captures my rundown mood.  Listen to "Huīfù" below and be on the lookout for the "Atarashī Ni~Tsu no Tanjō" LP soon on Not Not Fun.

Composer/synth enthusiast Antoni Maiovvi continues to weave interesting works of analog soundscape, often dabbling in giallo-tinged nightmares, slasher film dread, and zombie-disco.  New album "Avrokosm" finds the artist working his textured sounds towards the cosmos, a veritable soundtrack to space exploration, the songs of some foreign, red planet.  Take a listen to "Afternoon Youth" below and grab the LP from Not Not Fun.

Robedoor

LA's experimental, psych-drone-synth-something weirdo duo Robedoor's excellent and limited 2013 album "Primal Sphere" is getting the cassette reissue treatment from Not Not Fun.  Listen to "Stagnant Venom" below and slowly slip into the abyss, or blast into the outer reaches of space as your particles are spread over all of creation.

Doll Food

LX Sweat

Fog machines and strobe lights blurring out sections of an ancient and weathered city, as dirty and sweaty city dwellers move and bump and collide among one another, a gathering of Eurotrash despair.  Germany's LX Sweat provides the soundtrack to the slithering masses with their cocktails and designer drugs and S&M bars.  The little 90's raver living inside me is just dying.  Take a listen to "V.I.P. Russian Tsarlag
