Blanck Mass
Blanck Mass, the solo project of Fuck Buttons member Benjamin John Power, is dropping a new 12" single next month with the release of "Bloodhound / You." The A-side is a hyper swirling mix of electronics and black metal vocals. It will give you the shakes. Check it out below and pre-order the record here from the artist and Weirding Way.

Editors
It has been a really long time since i've thought about UK band Editors. I remember them when they first came out, riding a kind of post-punk revival wave kickstarted by bands like Interpol. But it now appears that an artist i have very much thought about recently, Benjamin John Power, AKA Blanck Mass, has joined the band as a full time member. And they've released a new single, which pretty much sounds like what i'd expect from these joined forces. Check out "Heart Attack" below.

Daily Jam - Chernobyl
Here's the beautiful and ominous "Chernobyl," which you may know as a track from Blanck Mass's debut full-length LP or from its use in Ben Wheatley's "A Field in England." Check it out below, our Daily Jam.

Blanck Mass
I just saw that electronic artist Blanck Mass is providing the score to the upcoming movie about Ted Kaczynski called "Ted K," opening tomorrow. I recently rewatched Ben Wheatley's "A Field in England" which makes wonderful use of the artist's "Chernobyl" on its soundtrack, so this music should feel right at home on the screen. Check out "Montana (Main Theme)" below and pre-order the record here from Sacred Bones.

Blanck Mass
In the early days of the pandemic last year, electronic artist Blanck Mass livestreamed and recorded an improvisational performance of synths and beats called "Mind Killer." It's awesome, and is now getting a proper vinyl release from the good folks at Sacred Bones. Check out the whole thing below and order the record here.

Blanck Mass
February brings us a new album from Blanck Mass. The "In Ferneaux" LP looks to be two epic and sprawling tracks of mind-expanding electronics. Check out the single edit of one section called "Starstuff" below and pre-order the record here from Sacred Bones.

Blanck Mass
August brings us a new album from Blanck Mass, aka Benjamin John Power, or one half of electro noise duo Fuck Buttons. Power says the upcoming "Animated Violence Mild" was inspired by grief on both a personal and global scale. Listen to the noise and synths of album opener "House vs. House" below an pre-order the record here from Sacred Bones.

Blanck Mass
The wonderful noises made by Blanck Mass have evolved from soothing, hypnotic electronica to cinematic synth wave to full blown chaotic thunder, and the artist's latest EP/single keeps the momentum going with a foray into hardcore punk. The elements of that particular genre pair well with the artist's more noisy and frenetic offerings, and i'm curious where he heads next. Released last Saturday for the UK's version of Record Store Day, and thus unavailable for many of us to pick up, we'll all just have to settle for the download/stream which you can get here. THOUGH, it was also just announced today that copies are available from Sacred Bones. Hooray! Get that here and listen to "Odd Scene" below.

Blanck Mass Remixed by Zola Jesus
Hunting around for some new music this morning, and came across an EP of remixes of songs from Blanck Mass's 2017 album "World Eater." It's gonna be a good day. Zola Jesus, Gazelle Twin, Naked, and M. Lamar each take a track from the record and turn them into gothy post punk, electronic and synth explorations, or noise. Listen to "Please (Zola Jesus Remix)" below and download the digital only "World Eater Re-Voxed" here via Sacred Bones.

Blanck Mass
Over the last few years, Blanck Mass (Benjamin John Power of Fuck Buttons) has made some stellar electronic music, using an array of analog synths, scrambled samples, chaotic, scorching techno, noise, and cinematic soundscapes. Sacred Bones will be releasing the upcoming "World Eater" LP in March, but you should listen to the crunchy, scattered collage of sound that is "Please" below.

Blanck Mass - D7-D5
The latest music from Adult Swim's Singles comes from one of my favorites, one half of Fuck Buttons, the pulsing, throbbing, cinematic electronic music of Blanck Mass. "D7-D5" moves with a chaotic energy, a swooning mess of sound akin to moving at supersonic speed, your vision blurring ahead of you. Listen below and download it here.

Blanck Mass
Blanck Mass is Benjamin John Power, one half of the experimental electronic prog act Fuck Buttons, and new album "Dumb Flesh" sounds a lot more like that project than it does previous Blanck Mass efforts. That is not a bad thing, as i'm all for the occasional forays into noise and chaos as well as the beautiful sweeping synths and samples that the record contains. Listen to album closer "Detritus" below and get the record from Sacred Bones.

John Carpenter remixed by Blanck Mass
John Carpenter's "Lost Themes" came out today, and because i'm so stoked, here's the Blanck Mass (Benjamin John Power of Fuck Buttons) remix of "Fallen" taken from the deluxe version of the release. Listen below and get the album on Sacred Bones.
