Tycho

San Francisco based electronic artist Tycho has been regularly dropping new tracks for the last half year.  One can only assume a new full-length album may be forthcoming.  No word just yet, but here's a dreamy, airy new jam.  Listen to "Anotherwave" below and download it here from Ninja Tune.

Tycho and Paul Banks

San Francisco-based electronic artist Tycho just dropped a new single earlier this week featuring Interpol front man Paul Banks on vocals.  It's a dreamy, moody little number.  Check out "Boundary Rider" below and download it here from Ninja Tune.

Glass Beams

In a couple of hours, i'll be heading out to the ACL music festival with my wife, today's attendance being an anniversary gift i got for her so she can see Chappell Roan.  Probably because i'm older, but the festival just doesn't have the allure it did for me 15 years ago.  Anyway positivity is the name of the game, and i can always find something to listen to, like Melbourne's Glass Beams.  The band dropped their new album "Mahal" back in March, but the mix of Eastern tones, funk, psych, and library sounds should hit the ears just right on what's looking to be a hot and sunny day in Austin.  Check out the title track from the album below and get the record here from Ninja Tune.

Liverpool electronic artist Forest Swords just released new album "Bolted" earlier this month, full of dark and mysterious exotic sounds.  Check out "Night Sculpture" below and get the new album here from Ninja Tune.

Forest Swords

I haven't thought about the dark electronic sounds of UK artist Forest Swords in quite a while, but he's back with new single "Butterfly Effect."  The song pairs cold industrial beats and hum with the sampled vocals of Nenah Cherry to hypnotizing effect.  Check it out below and download it here from Ninja Tune.

Marie Davidson & L’Œil Nu

Montreal electronic artist Marie Davidson continues to make music with her full band L’Œil Nu to dizzying and wonderful effect.  Last year's "Renegade Breakdown" was one of my personal favorites, and now the group has released a new single, "Persona," featuring three different versions of the track, playing with some Jungian concepts.  Cool stuff.  Check 'em all out below and download them here from Ninja Tune.

Montreal artist Marie Davidson has been making cool electronic music for a number of years, and has now donned the moniker Marie Davidson & L’Œil Nu, the group name including her usual collaborators.  The group's new album, "Renegade Breakdown," drops in September on Ninja Tune.  Listen to the icy cold wave of the excellent title track below and pre-order the record here.

Sampa The Great

Here's a new single from Australian rapper Sampa The Great.  "Final Form" feels like a triumphant statement, sampled soulful, cinematic horns calling to the heavens or announcing an arrival, as the MC flows on top of it with an assured coolness.  It's fucking rad.  Listen below and get it here from Ninja Tune.

Marie Davidson

Marie Davidson has been making all manner of strange and pulsing electronic music for a few years now, and she has a new record headed our way in October on Ninja Tune.  Listen to the scattered, frenetic, and retro-feeling "So Right" below and pre-order the upcoming "Working Class Woman" here.

Young Fathers

I've always gotta give it up for uncategorizable pop, and Edinburgh trio Young Fathers are about as uncategorizable as they come.  Straddling a line between hip-hop, alt-rock, noise, pop, and some all around weirdness, the group's avant garde brand of music burrows into the brain, and then fucks things up for a while.  It's groovy.  Listen to "Lord" below and get the "Cocoa Sugar" LP here from Ninja Tune.

Also, kudos for the freaky, uber-memorable album art.

Forest Swords

Forest Swords already released and amazing album of experimental electronic music earlier this year, but here's two more new tracks just released by the artist.  Listen to "Congregate" and "Free" below, and buy the tracks here, courtesy of Ninja Tune.  All proceeds go to aid Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, and Mexico for hurricane/earthquake relief.

Forest Swords

Hey everybody, Forest Swords put out a new record on Friday.  Did i forget to mention that?  Shame on me.  Anyway, "Compassion" is available now via Ninja Tune, and it's a dark and moody piece of sound.  Listen to album opener "War It" below.

The Bug Vs. Earth

UK grime producer The Bug and Olympia droney doom metal band Earth have paired together before, but now the two artists are collaborating on a full-length album, the upcoming "Concrete Desert," due in March on Ninja Tune.  The resulting output sounds like the heralding of the apocalypse.  Listen to "Snakes Vs. Rats" below.

The Bug vs Earth

Black Friday will so be descending upon us all, a calamity of commerce and consumerism turned up to eleven.  Let's all hope for minimal trampling incidents this year.  As has become the norm over the last few years, the people behind the annual Record Store Day event have an assortment of wonderful Black Friday releases ready for the holiday shopping madness (new Faith No More single anyone?), and one of those is an interesting new collaboration between grimy electronic producer The Bug and drone metal act Earth.  "The Bug vs Earth" is two tracks of trippy, dark, and atmospheric bliss courtesy of Ninja Tune.  Listen to the appropriately titled "Cold" below, a chopped and oozing piece of cinematic dread, and let's hope for more music from these two in the future.

The Bug

UK producer, electronic musician The Bug (Kevin Martin) is readying his first record in 6 years, "Angels & Devils," which features a whole smattering of guest vocalists, ranging from Liz Harris (Grouper) to Justin K. Broadrick (Jesu/Godflesh) to Death Grips.  Listen to "Save Me" featuring Gonjasufi below and get the record from Ninja Tune in August.  I have a feeling it's going to be a monster.
