Adult DVD
SXSW '26 has come and gone now, and i'm still playing catch up a few more bands i wish i had been able to catch, like the electro-punk noise of Leeds band Adult DVD. Check out "Real Tee Lee" below and download it here from Fat Possum.

Dutch Interior
Here's the mellow album closer for LA band Dutch Interior's upcoming "Moneyball" LP. "Beekeeping" buzzes, hums, and floats along, a melancholy lament. Check it out below and pre-order the record here from Fat Possum.

Dax Riggs
Hailing from Lafayette, Louisiana, alt-rock troubadour Dax Riggs trades in stoner-tinged and bluesy grunge with a kind of Southern Gothic flair. Dig on the moody, downtrodden "Sunshine Felt the Darkness Smile" below to get an idea about what i'm talking about, and order the artist's new album "7 Songs for Spiders" here from Fat Possum.

DEHD
I caught Chicago trio DEHD pretty much by accident several years ago at a day party at SXSW, and ever since, they seem to be one of those bands that gets just a little bit tighter with every release, a little bit fuller, more complete. New album "Poetry" drops in May. Check out first single "Mood Ring" below and pre-order the LP here from Fat Possum.

Ellis
Continuing my sampling of listed artists for next month's SXSW, and mentally cataloging whom i'd like to see, Ontario artist Ellis comes into view, her dreamy, shoegazey bedroom pop hitting all the right notes for my heart. Listen to "Something Blue" below, grab it here via Fat Possum, and catch her in Austin somewhere in the madness in March.

Kadhja Bonet
Over the last few weeks, i kept seeing the cover art above all over the place, sprouting up on blogs, websites, and record stores, and i finally got to checking it out. Whoa. "Childqueen" is the latest from LA artist Kadhja Bonet, a hypnotic and intoxicating mix of jazz, funk, folk, and psychedelia. It's a summer soundtrack for walking into ocean at sunset, the horizon melting into the sea in oranges and pinks. Listen to the title track below, and get the record here from Fat Possum.

Spiritualized - I'm Your Man

Melody's Echo Chamber
Last year, French artist Melody Prochet announced the release of her recording project Melody's Echo Chamber's sophomore album "Bon Voyage," but then was in some kind of terrible accident that forced her to delay the record's release and cancel a whole bunch of live dates. She's better now, and the psych pop record is now slated for release in June on Fat Possum. Watch the trippy animated video for the album's second song "Breathe In, Breath Out" below.

The Districts
Philly's The Districts are at work on a new record for Fat Possum. The first taste of said album is "Ordinary Day," an anthemic rock track featuring an assist from John Congleton on the boards. This jam stomps and wails. Listen below.

John Congleton and The Nighty Nite - Your Temporary Custodian
Here's another track from the upcoming "Until the Horror Goes" LP from former Paper Chase front man John Congleton and The Nighty Nite. "Your Temporary Custodian" is just as menacing as Congleton is known for, but maintains a real pop undercurrent to woo you close enough to get its claws into you. Listen below and get the album in April on Fat Possum.
Minor Victories
June sees the debut of another supergroup of sorts, Minor Victories, featuring members of Editors, Stuart Braithwaite of Mogwai, and Rachel Goswell of Slowdive/Mojave 3 fame. Check out the synthy, dreamy, though kind of foreboding video for first single "A Hundred Ropes" below and be sure to grab the self-titled record from Fat Possum this summer.

John Congleton and The Nighty Nite
One of my most favorite acts of the last 15 years or so was the excellent and now defunct The Paper Chase, the project of musician and producer John Congleton. The band blended caterwaul and creepiness so perfectly as to induce goosebumps and scar eardrums. I loved them. But as most things do, the band eventually came to an end, and i found myself having to get my Congleton fix through his seemingly never ending list of producer credits. Until now. April will see the release of a new project called John Congleton and The Nighty Nite. The sonic aesthetic is akin to what Congleton used to make with The Paper Chase, and i could not be more excited. Look for "Until the Horror Goes" on Fat Possum on April 1st, and listen to "Until it Goes" below.

Jack Ladder and The Dreamlanders
Channeling "Avalon" era Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music, Australia's Jack Ladder and The Dreamlanders swing and swoon to synth-laden ballads and grand sonic structures. Ladder croons in a pleasant baritone over a sweeping and airy majesty. Listen to the Sharon Van Etten assisted "To Keep and To Be Kept" below and grab the "Playmates" LP from Fat Possum Records.

New music from Pure X
Austin's Pure X have a new album of their particular brand of shoegazey, Americana dreampop. "Angel" was recorded at the historic, 100-year old Wied Hall in central Texas and will be out on Fat Possum in April. Listen to first single "Starlight" below.

Jackson Scott
North Carolina singer/guitarist Jackson Scott is pulling a lot of comparisons to such indie-rock wunderkinds as Built To Spill and Deerhunter's Bradford Cox, and while those comparisons are pretty dead on, there's also a Dinosaur Jr meets dreamy-bedroom-pop thing going on. Take a listen to "Together Forever" from the forthcoming "Melbourne" LP, out later this month on Fat Possum.
